The Shelton Creative District, Downtown Shelton Association, and the City of Shelton are thrilled to announce the return of the Shelton Art Walk on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in historic downtown Shelton. This free, all-day event invites the public to experience the vibrant creativity of the South Sound through local art, live music, vendor markets, and community activities for all ages.

The Shelton Art Walk is more than an art event—it’s a celebration of our growing creative community and a key milestone in developing the Downtown Shelton Creative District. Visitors can expect a dynamic mix of artist showcases in local businesses, an outdoor artist and maker market, performances throughout the day, and opportunities to engage with art in new and meaningful ways.

The Shelton Art Walk began as a grassroots effort in 2024 to highlight the growing creative energy in our town. It was a collaboration between local artists, small businesses, and community leaders working together to create a shared space for art, performance, and connection. The event also marked a major milestone for the Downtown Shelton Creative District.

The inaugural 2024 Art Walk was a resounding success. Organizers were excited to see so much of the community enjoy the event. Comments like “I feel seen here” and, “It’s so lovely seeing so many different people coming together for art” were heard over and over again. It was truly an event unlike any other we have had in Shelton. Artists and businesses alike expressed how powerful it was to be part of something so joyful and inclusive.

“We’re building something beautiful in downtown Shelton,” says Isa Radojcic, organizer and founder of Marmo Caffè & Gallery. “This event is about celebrating the artists and makers who are revitalizing our community, one creative act at a time.”

Whether you’re coming for the first time or returning from last year, the Art Walk is designed around discovery and community. You’ll find original artwork displayed inside downtown storefronts, live music and performances at various locations, artist demonstrations, hands-on activities for kids, and a lively outdoor market filled with locally made goods. It’s a day to slow down, explore, and connect with creativity in every form.

This year’s event will incorporate all kinds of things to see and do:

  • Artist Showcase: 20 downtown businesses will be hosting artists working in a wide range of media. Art will be on display for the entirety of the event, with a featured Artist Reception from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., where you can meet the artists and hear more about their work. There is a lot to see!
  • Artist & Maker Market: Take a walk down Cota Street and explore 40+ vendor booths featuring handcrafted goods, and creations by local artists. From art to accessories, there’s something for everyone—so treat yourself (or someone else)!
  • Performers:  Beloved magician Jeff Evan will have an exciting show on the mainstage at 12 p.m. with “Reading Magic,” a performance hosted by Mason County Timberland Libraries that will appeal to audiences of all ages. Then at 1:30 p.m. Mason TRL and local publisher Impulsive Walrus present a live, interactive storytelling event at Mason County Historical Society. At this program, author and Impulsive Walrus founder Frog Jones writes a story in real time through humor, audience participation, and a little bit of luck. Be sure to stick around afterward for readings by Jones and fellow founder Esther Jones from the Impulsive Walrus catalog. Things kick off on the mainstage however at 11 a.m. with a land acknowledgement and then continue through 8pm with sets by singer-songwriter Stephanie; singer-songwriter Lisa Ramsauer; Travis Garland, the Glam Bandit; Kathy Jonas and Craig Gurney: The Angel and The Outlaw; Minstrel of Malibu, Johnny Roquemore; and bands SlitShift and Generifus. The Hot Notes Barber Shop Quartet will once again be singing at the Shelton Candy Shop; and additional sets by singer-songwriter Angelina Lyon at Cloverwood Candle Co. at 1 p.m. You’ll also find Karaoke with Miguel at Town Pub at 7 p.m.! Marmo will host an after-party with DJs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Artist Demos: Swing by the demo booth on Cota Street and chat with the artists as they bring their work to life—ask questions, see their process, and maybe even try your hand at something new!
  • Kids Zone: Families can visit the Kids Zone for games and fun activity stations led by Great Bend Center for Music, the YMCA, and Mason County Timberland Regional Libraries. Activities will include bucket drumming, parachute dance parties, a hip hop class, hacky sack and more!
