Biscuit House opened its first standalone location in Lakewood in 2016 and soon after, was approached by Toyota of Olympia with an offer to open a second location inside their Tumwater dealership. This unique concept was originally intended as an on-site breakfast option for dealership employees, customers and those getting their car repaired. Over time, word of Biscuit House Tumwater’s signature breakfast menu spread, and the restaurant also grew in popularity with the general public.
“We serve their customers and their employees and now we have our own customers that come in just for us,” says Sofia Davis, owner of Biscuit House Tumwater. “I get the comment a lot of, ‘a restaurant in a dealership?’ But the initial concept was just to feed their employees and to serve their customers. So, it’s kind of fun what it turned into.”

“Our team there is awesome,” says Davis. “Most of our team members have been there from day one. So, our team loves to be there and people love our food, of course. We base all of our items around biscuits.”

Davis says the full biscuit breakfast offers a bit of everything, including the restaurant’s legendary fluffy biscuit served with gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns.
The Haley hash has a bit of heat with spicy chorizo sausage, salsa, tomatoes and eggs. And of course, it comes with a house biscuit. For diners with a morning sweet tooth, cinnamon swirl French toast and sweet cream pancakes with honey butter are sure to please.
Biscuit House Tumwater also has a comprehensive menu of espresso drinks, utilizing unique flavors and locally-roasted beans from Phantom Coffee. The French kiss combines caramel, white chocolate and French vanilla. Or reminiscent of classic treats, the Snickers mocha uses chocolate, caramel and hazelnut to recreate the candy bar’s signature flavor.
“The product the roaster makes for us is special to Biscuit House,” says Davis. “So, it’s a very smooth roast. It’s not bitter, or it doesn’t have a punch at the end. It’s very smooth, so we do a lot less syrup than people are used to because the coffee speaks for itself, the actual bean.”
Biscuit House Tumwater Is Building Community and Serving Customers Alongside Toyota of Olympia
Biscuit House Tumwater’s partnership with Toyota of Olympia has been a positive experience for Davis, because of their aligned goals of providing great service to customers, while also cultivating the greater Tumwater community.
“When that idea came about, when the owners approached us with this idea, we were excited,” says Davis. “We’re excited at the potential. We were excited at what they already had built and what we can do to help them grow that.”
Davis says Toyota of Olympia has worked hard to create a central hub, with quality service and she is glad to further support this sense of community through Biscuit House Tumwater.
“Toyota’s vision was very well aligned with our vision,” explains Davis. “We’ve always created Biscuit House to be a community place. A communal place where people have ownership of this place, where they feel welcomed. Where they feel like they’re not a bother to us, we are there for them, that our community meets here. So, that really matched our way of doing business, where we wanted the community to come in and love it and stay and hang out and be an extension of their home.”
