Moving and securing a new place to live is no easy feat, so anything that can be simplified along the way is a plus. The team at The Rants Group has the industry knowledge, expertise, and resources to make your next rental a breeze. “We offer virtual tours in-house, so there is no extra fee to owners or prospective tenants,” shares Marketing Manager Billy Christensen. “We utilize virtual technology from Matterport, providing state-of-the-art 3D technology, using  a high-tech camera that scans each room  creating a high resolution, fully interactive tour for each home.” With many tenants coming from out of state, this perk allows interested families to tour the home without having to leave their living room. This idea became incredibly useful and essential during the pandemic and continues to be their standard operation today to make the renting experience better for both tenants and prospective renters. “There is a lot of stress for the current tenant,” says Property Manager Jeri Snyder. “Trying to pack, move, and leave a home in the best condition possible is a lot of work, and tours can be disruptive to their schedule.”

This isn’t the only perk to renting a Rants Group home. Once you are a  tenant, you will have access to support and resources to make your living experience comfortable and carefree. “We always have a dedicated property manager for every single property,” says Billy. “You’re not just calling a general line and getting whoever can look it up for you.” The Rants Group also uses a cloud-based software system called Appfolio, which allows tenants to submit work orders, pay rent, and schedule automatic payments without ever having to come into the office. “The work order system is really great,” shares Vice President Danielle Rants. “You can track the status of the work order, schedule with maintenance technicians, submit photos, and have lots of communication. We strive not to have anyone in the dark.”

The Rants Group proudly manages properties all across Thurston County, with a few listings in the surrounding areas. Current tenants looking to move out are asked to provide at least 20 days’ notice, so most of the available homes are posted on their website  as soon as possible, as well as on rental home websites. Checking back regularly can help you stay on top of your rental search and ensure you get the home you have been waiting for. Once you have found the one, The Rants Group makes the application process as straightforward as possible to get you into your new home quickly. “The first step is to go directly to our website and apply,” shares Jeri. “Anyone over 18 must fill out the application, so be prepared with names and email addresses of past employers and landlords plus proof of income.” They also run a credit and criminal check, so it can be wise to review your free credit report or clear up any other outstanding problems prior to submitting your application to make sure it is as competitive as possible.

When filling out the application, it is critical to complete all required fields. It is common for people to get busy with other things and perhaps leave items unfinished only to come back later. This can leave you with an incomplete and less competitive application. Upon review, The Rants Group will look for the fully completed applications as contenders for the rental home, so it is important to follow all the steps. There are no upfront fees aside from the hold fee, which will hold the home after you have been approved to rent it, and the application fee. “There are so many applicants on each home, so the hold fee has to be paid within 24 hours of approval,” says Danielle. “We take it off the market and draft your lease to be signed within 48 hours to ensure you get the home.” When the time comes, you simply pay your refundable security deposit minus the hold fee plus your first month’s rent and can begin to move in as soon as the now-vacant home has been professionally cleaned, courtesy of The Rants Group.

Relocating can be a stressful and exciting experience, and The Rants Group is here to help make your next move a great one. Visit their website to view available rentals, tour them virtually, orschedule an in-person  tour today!
