The 2022-23 Arena League Season for Oly Town has yet to even have a tryout meanwhile several moves have been made. Nate Boatright, 3rd place WISL Skipper for the Oly Town Artesians announces his return to the players roster this fall in the hopes of adding experience and skill to Oly Town’s indoor squad this 2022-23 season.

“I enjoyed coaching last year and I had a great time working with Nick and the team but ultimately while I can I want to be on the field and out there with the guys” said returning Captain Nate Boatright as he steps away from Head Coach of Artesians Indoor Squad.

With the news of Boatrights return to the field it leaves a coaching vacancy which the club has brought in interim Head Coach that is very familiar to the local soccer community and the Artesians.  Matt Herrera who has not only played and captained but has a couple years under his belt coaching the indoor team.

“Indoor is a different game and it’s a different mentality. It’s fast paced and relentless especially at our home field at the Evergreen State College Pavilion. I look forward to seeing the talent that comes out this winter and vying for a Championship” interim Head Coach Matt Herrera on the transition.

The Oly Town Artesians come into the 2022-23 season having fought well the previous year losing to Bellingham United in the SemiFinals. Bellingham would later lose to the Tacoma Stars in the Championship which saw a lot of action as well as send offs as a late game brawl occurred.

Players interested in trying out for the Artesians Arena Team can attend open tryouts on October 11 and 13, 8 p.m.-10 p.m. both days at the Evergreen State College Pavilion at 4201 Driftwood Lane NW Olympia, WA 98505. Coach Herrera advises players to arrive promptly at 8 p.m. to fill out forms and pay the $25 tryout fee. The fee goes towards covering a portion of the individual players cards and insurance.

The Artesians are in their 8th year since the Tumwater Pioneer days which was founded by Brandon Sparks and eventually rebranded into Oly Town. Home games will be played at the Evergreen State College Pavilion and under the management of Olympia Indoor Soccer.
