The Salmon House

Position yourself mere feet from the glacier-carved, Lake Quinault when dining at The Salmon House. As one of only a handful of restaurants in Quinault, The Salmon House is a fantastic option for some of the freshest seafood on the Olympic Peninsula. One of their specialty items is smoked salmon that’s been slow smoked over an alder wood fire to perfection with their rain forest seasonings. Other notable items on the menu include the Merriman Falls mushroom dish, named after a towering waterfall near the restaurant, as well as the dill salmon and tempura cod. Another long time classic on the Harbor is Duffy’s Restaurant. Ask any local where their favorite pie is made, and you’ll likely hear “Duffy’s.” The apple and cream pies are both popular items, but the go-to favorite is often their little wild blackberry pie made from berries native to the area. Open since 1987, Breakwater sells a large variety of locally caught seafood to prepare at home, but also serves up their bounty for guests to enjoy. Their extensive menu consists of cod and chips, halibut fishwich, grilled crab and cheese, clam strips, and of course, they’re famous clam chowder. As a winner of 18 Best of Twin Harbors awards over the years, Bennett’s is a favorite of both locals and visitors. Considered a local secret, Merino’s Seafood Market is a true gem in Westport. Although most know of Merino’s as a seafood packing company, they recently began serving delicious food from their storefront located just steps from the state’s largest fish landing port. Try out one of their many freshly caught fish and chips baskets such as the unique salmon ‘n’ chips or the albacore tuna melt made with Merino’s canned tuna.
