Westport Winery released its first Albariño on Mother’s Day, May 10. The wine is called Medusa and features original art by winery co-founder Kim Roberts of a jellyfish on the label. Albariño is a traditional Spanish white grape that is not commonly produced in the United States.

Medusa features strong botanical and tropical aromas along with the sense of being in an orchard with hints of peach. On the palate it has a flash of acidity while maintaining a fresh and easy tone. Its bright clarity reflects its ability to pair seamlessly with everything from Cougar Gold cheese to a Dungeness Crab Louise to a plate of Avocado Toast from the Sea Glass Grill.
The grapes for Medusa were harvested at Inland Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA. With the current world pandemic, the Westport team hand bottled this gem to get it into your hands today.
