Spring is coming and with it comes the Easter Bunny! Brightly colored eggs filled with fun treats are scattered all over Thurston County for kids of all ages to hunt – and even your dog! Whether you want to hunt for eggs at a farm, meet Elsa and Anna, or go on a Peeps scavenger hunt, there are plenty of things to do for Easter in Thurston County. Here are the 2020 Easter egg hunts in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and throughout Thurston County.

8th Annual Kids Egg Hunt and Flashlight Egg Hunt

Put on by Armstrong Racing Foundation, the annual Easter egg hunt for kids starts at 3:30 p.m., followed by a live auction at 7:30 p.m. and a flashlight egg hunt for anyone 13-years-old and over.

13th Annual Doggone Easter Egg Hunt

Put on by Feline Friends of Olympia and Fences for Fido, the 13th Annual Doggone Easter Egg Hunt is a fun event for the entire family – including your pets! There will be egg hunts for dogs and kids plus a doggie fashion show. There will be fun vendors and non-profit booths to visit, a snack ‘n bake sale and more! Entry is $4 per adult, $1 for kids 12-years-old and under.  $4 per fashion show entry. Cash or check only.

Peeps Scavenger Hunt

Head to the Olympia Timberland Library April 6-18 for a Peeps Scavenger Hunt! Families of all ages can get a form and search for the peeps that have gotten loose and are hiding throughout the library dressed as favorite book characters. Turn your completed form in to receive a prize.

Also returning this year is their “Peep Into My Favorite Book: A Literary Diorama Contest.” Kids can use Peeps marshmallows to create a shoe-box sized diorama of a favorite book. You have until April 15 to drop it off at the Olympia Timberland Library’s Youth Services Desk. Make at home, or get materials and make it in the library’s maker space.  Then, from April 16-25, return to the library to cast your vote on your favorite Peeps diorama. Local gift certificates will be given to winners in each age category.  Rules and more information are at the customer service desk.

Nelson Farm Easter Egg Hunt

Head to the Nelson Ranch for an Easter egg hunt on the farm. They will have horse-drawn wagon rides to see newborn calves! They will have all-ages Easter egg hunts at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bring a basket and hunt through the woods for brightly colored eggs filled with candy and prizes. Purchase beef direct from the farm while you are there.

Tumwater Parks & Recreation’s 23rd Annual Easter Egg Dash

Tumwater Parks & Recreation’s 24th Annual Easter Egg Dash will be as egg-citing as ever with over 20,000 plastic eggs waiting to be found. This free event is for children 11-years-old and under.  Eggs are filled with candy, toys and coupons. Don’t miss the Easter Bunny, who will make a special appearance to get those last-minute Easter photos.

Yelm Eagles Kids Easter Egg Hunt

The Yelm Eagles puts on a free Easter egg hunt every year with four age groups: 1- to 3-years-old; 4- to 6-years-old; 7- to 9-years-old; and 10- to 13-years-old.  There will be over 2,000 eggs for kids to hunt. They can also get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. While the event is free, they do accept donations that go towards next year’s hunt.

O Bee Egg Dash

Mixx 96.1 and O Bee Credit Union are paired up again for the 2020 O Bee Egg Dash! Kids ages 2- to 10-years-old, broken into three groups, can dash for candy and prizes hidden in over 18,000 plastic eggs. Just bring a basket or bag for them to fill up! Each age group will have one egg with a grand-prize ticket for a new bike and helmet from Falcone’s Bicycle Center. The hunts start promptly at 11:00 a.m., so arrive a bit earlier to get parking and ready to hunt eggs.
