Barrel Ride is a six-month aged whiskey that spent time in one of Westport Winery’s French wine barrels imparting a unique color and texture to an already smooth experience.
Riptide is the distillery’s brown sugar and vanilla flavored whiskey. It is lush, decadent and easy to enjoy on ice or in a cocktail.
These two whiskeys round out the existing whiskey line-up that includes Bowsprit a maple chai whiskey and HMS Bounty, a cinnamon apple delight.
Her Majesty’s Ship is what we commonly know as the meaning of HMS. In this case it represents Her Miraculous Survival as the label features a breast cancer surviving mermaid who has lost her hair and tail to chemo yet retains the bright smile of a survivor.
The Bowsprit label is a classic depiction of the female figure on the spar of a sailing ship. All of the distillery’s labels feature original art by winery and distillery co-founder Kim Roberts.
The distillery mashed their first Washington white winter wheat yesterday at Mount Olympus Brewing in Aberdeen. The grain came from distillery founder Kim’s sister’s family farm in Reardan, Washington. Jill and Stan Schwartz harvested this wheat in late August. It will become the distillery’s first single malt with the label Selkie.
In addition to the whiskeys the distillery handcrafts thirteen vodka, two gin, two rum, and a dozen liqueur. The next products that will add to the list are agave spirits.
Ocean’s Daughter Distillery is open daily from 11am to 6pm. All ages are welcome in the distillery tasting room as well as in the winery tasting room and restaurant.
A portion of the proceeds from Ocean’s Daughter spirits are donated to the construction of the first International Mermaid Museum to be built on the grounds of the resort. It will be dedicated to teaching ocean ecology from seashore to sea floor immersed in mermaid mythology.
