Family and Juvenile Court (FJC) invites you to join in Thurston County’s 14th annual celebration of National Adoption Day on Thursday, November 15, at 4:00 p.m. Thurston County Family and Juvenile Court will be holding a special event to celebrate all families who adopt and help raise awareness of the 2,000 plus legally free children in Washington State foster care awaiting a forever family. Many committed judges, government agencies, lawyers, private individuals, families, and programs have joined together to commemorate this special day. The highlight will be several local families publicly finalizing their adoptions!

What: National Adoption Day Celebration

When:  Thursday, November 15, 2017, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Where: Thurston County Family and Juvenile Court, 2801 32nd Avenue SW, Tumwater, Washington

National Adoption Day is celebrated in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. In Thurston County, more than one-thousand children have been adopted by stepparents, domestic partners, individuals, and couples since Thurston County began celebrating National Adoption Day in 2004.  These families make a real difference in the lives of children and our community.

The Adoption Day Ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments and socializing will follow at 4:30 p.m. with activities, including The Dave Thomas Foundation and craft projects from the Hands On Children’s Museum.

This event is sponsored by Thurston County Superior Court, Family and Juvenile Court, Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families, Thurston County Bar Association, and many local area businesses.
