In celebration of our community’s brewing history, the City of Tumwater and the Tumwater Downtown Association – in partnership with co-presenting sponsors Olympia Beer and O Bee Credit Union – will host Tumwater’s 5th Annual Tumwater Artesian Brewfest. The event will take place Saturday, August 19 at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course, in the shadow of the former Olympia Brewery. With over 10 acres of flat manicured grass, the golf course driving range provides a unique outdoor venue for beer tasting, music, activities, food and fun.
We have invited 50 select brewers to attend this year’s festival as well as several cideries, select local wineries and one local distillery. The event will include a variety of sponsor booths, food vendors and beer-related vendors. Keys on Main will provide DJ music as well as an interactive dueling piano show. Once again, we’ll have contests and activities such as life-size beer pong, a helicopter golf ball drop, beer stein holding, and several other attractions.
The Tumwater Artesian Brewfest celebrates the long history of beer making in Tumwater and the craft behind today’s outstanding beer and wine professionals. While the event offers Olympia Beer on tap, this festival focuses on local brewers and vintners. According to Brewfest organizer Chuck Denney, “For us, it’s an opportunity to bring together a variety of partners and host a fantastic community event. For breweries, cideries, and wineries, it’s an opportunity to share their talents and products with a regional audience from throughout the South Sound.”
