Believe it or not, eventually the rain will stop. (It has to, right?) And when it does, the Pacific Northwest transforms into the outdoor paradise we vaguely remember from last year.
Even with the sun’s delayed appearance, days are getting longer and temperatures edging upwards. Take the time to visit Olympia Furniture Company’s Harrison Avenue showroom to view their new outdoor displays. Whether you’re starting a project, looking for that final finishing piece, or just need to freshen up your deck or patio with festive accessories, they’ve got you covered. Literally.
Open seven days a week, Olympia Furniture Company only started carrying outdoor items in March 2017. Co-owner’s Eddie Nelson and Allen Starkey explain that “every summer people asked and it was one of the largest furniture markets we just weren’t doing.”
They decided to seek inspiration from their local vendors as well as a recent Las Vegas furniture expo and now carry fire pits, outdoor seating, weather-proof pillows, dining options, umbrellas, rugs, freestanding heaters, and even festive bars and barstools. It’s probably no surprise that fire pits are a big seller with our often-erratic weather.
Much of this outdoor furniture uses Nuvella fabric, made from 100% recyclable fiber. This material is created to maintain color against fading, be easy to clean, and withstand indoor or outdoor traffic. Shoppers spending over $999 on outdoor items will also receive a free portable Weber charcoal grill for a limited time.
While visiting the showroom, look for Spring Cleaning deals, specials and sales making room for their many Vegas finds. Currently mattresses are a hot sale item, with huge discounts on last year’s best sellers, floor models, and overstocks.
Delivery is available on any purchase, with cost and turnaround time depending on the item and its degree of customization. Simply ask at the store or find ordering timelines on their website. A newly designed website will go live soon but in-store pickup or home delivery options are always available.
Hometown pride is key at the Olympia Furniture Company. They strive to use regional vendors and benefit their local community year-round. In April, they held a teddy bear drive benefitting children in crisis situations and this summer they’ll host a food drive to feed students who typically rely on school lunches.
To honor educators during Teacher Appreciation Week, visit the store’s Facebook page and nominate a local teacher who deserves special recognition. On May 15, Nelson and Starkey will choose a winner and award a $1000 shopping spree to the teacher and $100 to their appreciative nominator.
As the witticism says, ‘No good deed goes unpunished.’ Olympia Furniture Company has been voted the Best of South Sound’s Best Furniture Store in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 as well as the Volcano’s Best of Olympia.
The store is located at 2302 Harrison Avenue NW, Suite 101, on Olympia’s West Side. They’re open from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. With items for every room of the house, budget, style, and taste, you’re sure to find just the right piece. Call 360-338-0638 with questions or find a list of brands carried, special offers, and Lay-A-Way details online.
But don’t wait too long: winter’s gray skies are fading fast and your beloved BBQ would look amazing surrounded by vibrant chairs, sturdy tables, solar-lighted patio umbrellas, and a festive new bar.
