It is time again for the annual Rotary Gala and Auction. Organized by South Puget Sound and West Olympia Rotary clubs, every year the event brings the community together in an effort to raise funds to support next years’ community service efforts.

Themed ‘Go Play at the Beach’ for 2017, event goers are welcome to dress up or dress down for the festivities and enjoy a night of food, networking, and fun. This year’s auction will be held at the Little Creek Casino Event Center on April 29, starting at 5:30pm.

Little Creek Casino Resort is the venue for this year’s event.

The event includes both live and silent auctions full of amazing prizes as well as a raffle for free first choice of all silent auction items and an impressive dessert table. Some of the prizes up for grabs in 2017 include car detailing, bronzes, fly fishing lessons, free lattes for a year, and a spectacular trip to New York to see Hamilton. Many interesting products, goods, and services will be up for auction and it’s all in the name of a great cause.

Each year at the auction a specific project is chosen for Fund-A-need, or special dedication in the following year. Past beneficiaries include Safeplace, Family Support Center, and the Hands on Children’s Museum in our local community. For 2017, Senior Services for the South Sound have been chosen to receive the benefits to help them continue to provide a wide array of progressive and comprehensive services including adult daycare, case management, nutrition, transportation, and respite care, along with socialization, health, and independent living programs.

Senior Services for South Sound is this year’s beneficiary at the Rotary Auction and Gala.

In addition to this yearly focus, the gala helps fund all club activities for the following calendar year including scholarship and vocational opportunities given to local youth, high school outreach programs, hosting foreign exchange students from France, Mexico, Italy, Slovakia, Poland and Spain to name just a few so far, as well as local service projects such as assisting at the Left Foot Organics farm, participating in the United Way Day of Caring, helping the “Out of the Woods” homeless shelter with repairs to their facility, and the preparation and serving of meals to Camp Quixote residents.

The ticket price for the event is $75 per person with great sponsorship packages available that will expose your company to between 300 and 400 of the area’s movers and shakers. Donated items are also being accepted to be sold at the auction.

You can donate an auction item, purchase tickets, and find more information via the auction’s website at spsrotaryauction.org. We look forward to your support in 2017.
