On Monday, February 15, an estimated two hundred and fifty 4-H youth from around Washington State will arrive at Priest Point Park to participate in a service project hosted by Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation that will benefit one of their peers who is in need.

Through the Sparrow Club, the youth, who are in town for the Know Your Government annual conference, will receive $10 for every hour each volunteer works from a local sponsor. The funds raised will benefit 7-year-old Elijah Allen, who has a rare medical condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome.

This is the third year that Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation has had the honor to host this compassionate group of teens who want to help others in need and make a difference in both the community and environment. The group will be spending two hours removing invasive vegetation and planting native plants to help restore the habitat at Priest Point Park.
