Alma Almanza and Jorge Herrara welcomed the first baby of 2015 at Capital Medical Center.

Camila Nicole Herrara Almanza, born at 1:48 a.m. on January 1, is the first baby to be delivered at Capital Medical Center in 2015. Camila is a beautiful, healthy girl weighing in at exactly 8 lbs and measuring 20 3/4 inches. She is the daughter of Alma Almanza and Jorge Herrara and new baby sister to older brother, Angel, age 2. The family resides in Lacey, Wash.

“Welcoming little Camila as our first baby of 2015 is such a joy,” says Gail Yandell, director of Women’s Services. “Every birth is special at Capital and we love that we’re able to share this momentous event with nearly 700 families each year.” Capital Medical Center has been providing maternity services for more than 24 years and now offers eleven newly remodeled private birthing suites which allow for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum to occur in a bedroom-like atmosphere with state of the art equipment.

As Capital Medical Center’s first delivery of the year, the family received a basket of baby essentials provided by the hospital, including diapers, clothing, toys, books, a gift card for Target, and more.
