zumba in the parkResolutions. Motivation. Changes. So many of us vow to make ourselves over. The beginning of a new year is a good time to try new things. Several local members of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) would love to show you how fun it is to dance as a form of physical activity. You do not have to be a terrific dancer, just look around you. Many of us will never get to be on “Dancing with the Stars.” Some of us are more likely to be on “The Biggest Loser” if we were to be on TV.

In real life, we are all different shapes and sizes, we have different abilities and fitness levels. Anyone can get started on an exercise regimen, just make sure it fits your needs and can keep you motivated to make a positive change for your health.

In Zumba, you participate at your own level. The instructor is there to help guide you with suggested movements choreographed to the music selection. Every instructor has a different style. We could all using the same music and yet have different moves. Then there is “free style.” A participant once said, “There are no wrong moves in Zumba,, just unexpected solos!”

A new year, a new hope. For Filipinos still recovering from the double disaster of earthquake and super typhoon 3 months ago, the need to rebuild homes, and recover from the massive devastation are an everyday reality. Every effort to assist them shows that we care. We are one world and we can help each other.

Join us on Saturday for a fun dance party. Thank you to the Nisqually Tribe for sponsoring this event and to our local network of Zumba instructors that are dedicated to helping you stay fit and enjoy health.
