Streets were closed off in Lacey on Wednesday night. Street lights were shut off. However, this was no emergency. In celebration of Independence Day, the City of Lacey held its annual fireworks display near the intersection of College Street and Yelm Highway. Thousands lined the streets for the show, and nearby parking lots filled early in the evening. The show was impressive and crescendoed with a colorful finale that boomed deep into the night. Judging by the cheers and the laughter and smiles from those in attendance, the show was certainly a success.
