Dave and Harpreet Virk are announcing the opening of their new coffee shop Masaala Chai Café, named after the famous Indian chai tea.  They were inspired to open the café from the coffee, Chai tea and other specialty drinks they grew up drinking in Punjab, India

The Masaala Chai Café offers authentic Indian Chai tea.  It is a unique blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, milk and other spices to create a truly delicious and memorable drink whether served hot or cold.  Another offering is Indian espresso, which tastes very smooth with a natural creaminess and no need for additional sweeteners.  It is served with a small layer of silky foam on top.  An Indian fruit drink is the Mango Lassi made with mango and yogurt that is delectable and refreshing.  In addition, Batdorf & Bronson espresso-based beverages are available. The menu includes lighter fare of soups, salads, sandwiches and pastries. There are “Just the Muffin Tops”, “Fres Energy Bars” biscotti, gourmet cookies and gluten free baked goods.

The traditional coffee shops in India serve Masaala Chai tea and espresso to their patrons while they participate in “adda” sessions, (long intellectual discussions).  The 600-square foot café – decorated with warm Indian colors, soft lighting and plenty of seating – provides a welcoming environment lending itself well to “adda” sessions or light conversations. Complimentary WI-FI is available as well.

“We wanted to create a place for people who wanted to gather together or who want to stop in for something to go that offered more than the standard fare at other coffee shops.  We offer authentic Masaala Chai tea, traditional Indian espresso and other specialty drinks from India that most people have never tasted.  This is something unique and different, and especially, delicious”, said Dave Virk.

Masaala Chai Café is open seven days a week, Monday – Saturday from 7:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  in the ever-expanding north Lacey, Washington shopping district and is easily accessible by I-5.  There is ample complimentary parking. Featuring authentic Masaala Chai tea, Indian espresso, Batford & Bronson coffee beverages, lighter fare and pastries.  Masaala Chai Café is a welcoming, friendly gathering place.
