It was a great season for the Tumwater High School football team this fall.  However, the T-Birds fell to defending state champion Lynden High School 41 to 7 in the 2012 2A state championship game.

Lynden, who also won in 2008 and 2009, defeated Capital High School in the semi-finals last weekend.  Tumwater is the only other school besides the Lions to win the 2A championship since 2008, which they did in 2010.  With scouts in attendance from both WSU and the University of Washington, the T-Birds fought hard until the final whistle in front of their dedicated fan base.

Tumwater’s only other loss this year was in September at Shelton High School.”
