LACEY, WA, February 14, 2012: Beginning Monday, February 20, 2012, applications for Work Involvement Now (WIN!) projects will be available at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street, and also on the city’s official website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us. Youth groups completing service projects benefiting the Lacey community may receive a grant of up to $300 through this program.
Lacey based youth groups, or groups with members that consist primarily of students from North Thurston Public Schools or residents of Lacey, are eligible to apply. Groups must have a minimum of 8 youth participants, ages 10 to 18. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012. After the closing date, 35 applications will be drawn at random.
The Lacey Youth Groups WIN! Program has been in place since 1994. The Lacey City Council authorized this program to encourage youth groups to participate in projects that foster community pride, enhance and beautify neighborhoods and business districts, improve public safety, and increase youth involvement in the community. The City Council is interested in supporting a wide variety of youth groups and welcomes applications from groups that have not applied in the past.
