“Walking, I am listening in a deeper way.” Linda Hogan
How do we slow down enough to be present to the ecosystem of which we are a part? This event at the Nisqually Refuge is an opportunity to practice deepening our sense of this place and our relationship to it. Participants will receive excerpts from Henry David Thoreau’s and Linda Hogan’s essays “Walking” to read before we gather.
We will briefly discuss the readings and what they mean to us. We will have an opportunity to walk a portion of the Refugeand directly experience and understand this place more intimately. Using queries and writing prompts we will spend time to reflect and journal about our experience. We will close as a group by sharing about our experience.
