Woodworking Class: Craft a Dovetail Box

In this course for anyone age 16 and older, students will learn some fundamental skills of hand tool woodworking through constructing a small dovetail box. On the first day students will learn how to use basic layout tools and will cut a practice dovetail joint. The following time will be committed to cutting joinery, making a simple lid, and applying a finish. Students will become familiar with hand saws, chisels, marking tools, and simple maneuvers on a router table. Students may choose to bring a headlamp for added lighting on fine details. Class takes place over two days (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm).
