Are you a woman who enjoys singing with other women? We have all endured pain and loss to varying degrees over the past two years, and one thing we’ve shared is a collective heightened anxiety. What better time to gather with other women and raise our voices in song? Whether you consider yourself a novice who avoids singing in front of people but enjoys singing in a group, or you’re a confident crooner whom others like to have in close proximity in order to stay on pitch, join singer/song writer/choral director Terri Charles for an overnight gathering of women who love to sing.
Humans’ ability to move through and beyond tragedy and loss is transcendent when it is comforted and elevated by singing. Singing by oneself is a way to self-soothe. Singing with others can be magical. During our time together in this retreat, we will sing, mostly a cappella, often in rounds. The lovely thing about singing rounds is that you are singing a melody that, when it overlaps itself, becomes harmony. We will share about our challenges and triumphs and spend periods of time alone, journaling, and/or drawing. There will be a meditative burning bowl ceremony where we’ll write down and release what no longer serves us.
Retreat Leader, Terri Charles Terri believes Voice is one’s first instrument.
