You are invited to a musical walk through of Washington State geography and history featured in the songs on Mary Water’s new album – Welcome to Washington. The album features the stories set in our incredibly unique and diverse state. Topics include local pioneers, villains, heroes, harbingers, scientists, Pacific Chorus Frogs and roller-derby bouts. Her music reveals themes of domination, manipulation, sublimation, desperation, death, destruction, addiction, forgiveness, and hope.
Mary Water has been writing and recording music in Olympia since 1992. Mary has been working on picking up where artist Sufjan Stevens left off (recording albums for each state) for several years. Her album for Washington State, Welcome to Washington, will be available for purchase after the program.
