It is going from Lummi lands to Pasadena, CA, where the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will consider, the week of March 22nd, the case to protect Oak Flat in Arizona against the transfer of a 7 square mile stretch of public land in Tonto National Forest to a multinational corporation aiming to build one of the world’s largest copper mines, destroying sacred lands used by the Apache peoples. This is a place that has special significance— a place where Native Americans pray, collect water and medicinal plants for ceremonies, gather acorns and other foods, and honor those that are buried there.
