It’s a celebration of good things in crusts and the people who bake them.

Special guest judges will award prizes to the best pies in three categories at the third annual Community Pie Contest. The event will take place at the Lacey Timberland Library, Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • The categories are 1) fruit, 2) everything that isn’t fruit, and 3) young bakers – under age 18.
  • Pie fillings should not require refrigeration: no dairy products other than in the crust; no non-cured meats; no cream fillings; no meringue, custard, cream cheese or pumpkin fillings that contain dairy.
  • Bakers may pick up contest rules starting July 15 at the library and the Olympia Food Co-op.
  • Contestants should drop off their entries at the library August 20 between 10 a.m. and noon.
