The Olympia Tumwater Foundation Annual Scholarship Ceremony

The Olympia Tumwater Foundation will hold its annual scholarship ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. The Foundation will award $110,000 to 21 graduating seniors. Most high schools in Thurston County are represented. The Foundation has awarded over $1.7 million in scholarships and educational grants since inception of the program in 1967.

Yasmine Arbob (Timberline HS) will receive the top award, the Peter G. Schmidt Sr. Family scholarship of $10,000. The other 20 scholarships are $5,000 each. The criteria for award are need, community involvement, and academic promise.

Of note: Peter G. Schmidt Jr., the grandson of Olympia Brewing Co. founder Leopold Schmidt and last surviving child of brewery pioneer Peter G. Schmidt Sr., will be in attendance at the ceremony. He is 93.

Reception from 5-6pm and award ceremony from 6-7pm. Location is the historic Schmidt House, 330 Schmidt Place, Tumwater.
