Standing Room Only is proud to present their first 2019 production: The Lion in Winter, by James Goldman.
Set in France, in the year 1183, The Lion in Winter is a brilliantly written play of intrigue, suspense and strategic one-upmanship between the members of a royal family over Christmas weekend. A historical drama about the contenders for the crown of England, it truly is the original Game of Thrones.
Based on the historically factual family of King Henry II, the play imagines the conversations, alliances, threats and bargains that occur as Henry’s three sons position themselves to succeed their father to become the next King of England.
Performances are Friday & Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. & Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m., running through March 31. Performances will be at the Triad Arts Theater, 102 E Yelm Ave, Yelm WA, 98597.
