The 30th annual Golf Tournament benefits Saints Athletics, a tradition of excellence at Saint Martin’s. Our student-athletes are high performers — not just on the court, on the track and on the field. Saints like Taviah Jenkins ’14 routinely step up as achievers in the classroom and as student leaders on campus.
“Having had a passion to play softball since I was six years old, I knew that softball was my ticket to becoming the first in my family to attend college. The opportunity to play softball at Saint Martin’s University while earning a degree in criminal justice is a dream come true. Being a student-athlete has taught me to be dedicated, motivated and reliable, inside the classroom and on the diamond. Earning a spot on the Dean’s List and wearing a Saints jersey are both goals I highly value.”
– Taviah Jenkins ’14
Taviah is a member of the 2012 Saint Martin’s softball team, which finished with a school-record 33 wins. This year, the team garnered several honors from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, including Coach of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and First-Team and Second-Team All-Conference Athletes. The softball team also earned the GNAC Academic Team title, as did the Saints’ baseball and men’s and women’s golf teams. No matter what the sport, our student-athletes are committed to success.
