Below is a link to Microsoft’s major announcement, about a partnership between Saint Martin’s University and Microsoft on a new program designed to provide software development training to active duty service members transitioning out of the military. The Microsoft Software & Systems Academy is a pilot program with Saint Martin’s University at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Instructors from Saint Martin’s teach the 16-week course, which is meant to serve as a bridge for America’s veterans from a military career to the technology field. Featuring curriculum provided by Saint Martin’s University, the program was inspired by Sen. Patty Murray’s legislation, “VOW to Hire Heroes Act.

The first cohort of students will be honored at a special ceremony at Saint Martin’s Lacey campus on Dec. 2. We hope to see you there!
