August is Shark Month at South Sound Estuarium! Washington State waters are home to at least 10 species of sharks, and each weekend in August will present exciting opportunities to learn more about those fascinating, thrilling, and ultimately super-cool denizens of the deep! Books, movies, art projects, real shark specimens, fossil excavation and more! There will be something fun for everyone each weekend in August at the Estuarium.

Shark month will end with a fun, entertaining presentation for all ages from Dr. Dayv Lowry, one of Washington’s foremost experts on all things Elasmobranch (that means “shark” in fancy scientist speak). There might even be some real-life shark jaws, teeth, and tails to touch!

Come learn about all things shark this August at the Estuarium!
