The Olympia Career Hub is excited to announce our next Construction Bootcamp training cohort is scheduled for September 25 – October 20, 2023! The Olympia Career Hub is funded by the City of Olympia and sponsored by the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks to additional support from WorkSource Thurston and PacMtn Workforce Development Council, this training opportunity is now available to all Thurston County residents and members of the Squaxin Island tribal community.
Registration is now open. The deadline to apply for this Construction Bootcamp cohort is Monday, September 18th at noon.
Construction Bootcamp is a FREE pre-apprenticeship training program instructed by ANEW. This full-time (40 hours per week, Monday – Friday), 4-week course is designed to teach individuals the skills they need to begin a new career in the construction trades. Graduates earn OSHA-10, Flagger, and Forklift Operator Certificates. Every cohort ends with a hiring event to connect graduates to local employment opportunities. Classes will be held at the Olympia Armory.
The minimum requirements needed to apply for Construction Bootcamp are:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Be 18 years old or older on the first day of class
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
