National Period Action Day is Oct. 14th to collect menstrual hygiene products for communities in need. Locally, October 7 at the Women’s Club of Olympia donations of sanitary napkins, tampons and liners will be accepted from 10 am to noon by the National Organization of Women-South Sound, Soroptimist International of Olympia, Zonta Club of South Puget Sound and Woman’s Club of Olympia. Items will be distributed to local nonprofits including :CIELO, Quixote Village, SafePlace, The Other Bank at Thurston County Food Bank, Interfaith Services, Family Support Center, Community Youth Services, Plum Street Services, Quince Street Village.
