National Period Action Day is Oct. 14th to collect menstrual hygiene products for communities in need. Locally, October 7 at the Women’s Club of Olympia donations of sanitary napkins, tampons and liners will be accepted from 10 am to noon by the National Organization of Women-South Sound, Soroptimist International of Olympia, Zonta Club of South Puget Sound and Woman’s Club of Olympia. Items will be distributed to local nonprofits including :CIELO, Quixote Village, SafePlace, The Other Bank at Thurston County Food Bank, Interfaith Services, Family Support Center, Community Youth Services, Plum Street Services, Quince Street Village. If you miss this opportunity, feel free to drop off items at New Traditions Fair Trade, 300 5th Avenue SW Olympia from late September throughout October.
