Partners for Philanthropy, a consortium of more than 40 South Sound nonprofit organizations, will hold its annual awards luncheon on Friday, Nov. 7. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon getting underway at noon.
The event celebrates philanthropy in many forms and draws several hundred community leaders annually.
This year’s winners:
- Business of the Year: Port Blakely Tree Farms LLP. The business will be honored for its significant financial support of numerous non-profits, its willingness to support employees serving on non-profit boards of directors and its sponsorships of non-profit events. Recipients of their generosity include the Hands on Children’s Museum and South Puget Sound Community College
- Couple of the Year: Melanie Stewart and Wayne Williams. The Williams family is being honored for more than a decade of giving, both on nonprofit boards and as volunteers at holiday meals and events for the needy. The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County are among the groups who have benefited from their generosity.
- Individual of the Year: Laurie Berryman. Ms. Berryman will be honored for her financial and volunteer support to South Sound YMCA and SPSCC.
- Paul Grudis Inspirational Award: Earle McNeil. Named for a late community volunteer and activist, this award will honor McNeil, a retired professor from The Evergreen State College, for his service to the Olympia Senior Center, The Thurston County Food Bank and other agencies.
