Olympia Family Theater Mainstage presents: Starry Messenger
Welcome to Renaissance Italy at the turn of the 17th Century where you will meet Galileo Galilei as a young boy. The story follows Galileo through his incredible and visionary life. He used scientific instruments and the power of his imaginative mind to expand our knowledge of the cosmos. He was the 1st to change the way we look at the galaxy, Galileo changed forever the way we see ourselves and our place in the universe.
Starry Messenger uses historical facts as a stepping stone to imagination, creating a fable that allows us to actually enter the mind of a genius. This show will give the audience unique access to the curious man who challenged conventional wisdom to see the world and the heavens in new ways.
A South Sound premiere! Starry Messenger was originally created as a play for young audiences by the Children’s Theater Company of Minneapolis. Jen Ryle, Olympia Family Theater’s Artistic Director, has been waiting nearly 10 years to bring this show to the stage. Audiences will come away from Starry Messenger not only entertained, but inspired by the power of discovery.
Starry Messenger features a multi-generational cast (spanning 7 decades!) and includes original songs by local composer Daven Tillinghast.

All performances take place at our location, 612 4th Ave E, in downtown Olympia.
Thursday & Friday performances are at 7pm.
Saturday & Sunday performances are matinees at 2pm.
Pay-What-You-Can Performance: Thursday February 2nd at 7 pm. Tickets for this special performance are only available at box office starting at noon of day of show, cash or check only.
