Stream Team and WSU’s Native Plant Salvage Project will team up to present a free field class, “Meet the Trees of Washington,” on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Olympia. After classroom instruction, participants will take a field trip to a local nature trail to learn to identify native trees, shrubs, ferns and perennials. Bus transportation is provided for the field trip.

The class is especially beneficial for newcomers to our area or anyone else who has ever wondered about the benefits and horticultural uses of native trees and other plants. Participants will learn about several different ecosystems to visit in the South Sound and the plants and animals that inhabit them.

The workshop is free but space is limited. Register at streamteam.info/getinvolved/calendar/ or by calling WSU Extension at 360-867-2167, or email nativeplantsalvage@gmail.com.
