November 18-22 is American Education Week. It’s a great time to honor the noble work of public education. Millions of educators, parents, students, and community leaders will join the National Education Association (NEA) in raising awareness about the critical need to provide every child with a quality public education.
This week helps reinforce American Education Week’s theme, “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.” The theme represents NEA’s vision of calling upon all Americans to do their part in making public schools great for every child so that they can grow and achieve in the 21st century.
In North Thurston, we will be inviting local dignitaries, legislative and local government leaders, and others to take a tour of several local schools as we prepare for the Neighborhood School Improvements, Technology and Safety Upgrades Bond Measure which will go to voters in Feb. 2014.
