On October 22, communities across the state of Washington will come together and locally organize cleanups to make a dent in the growing waste problem and learn about ways that folks can take action to create systems change and move towards a plastic free future. In Olympia, the Olympia Surfrider chapter will be having one of their downtown Olympia cigarette butt focused cleanups, Pacific Shellfish Institute will be there to share their local stewardship program (fun for the whole family!) and the Master Recycler Composter Program will be there to help educate on reducing waste. And there may be more participating organizations! Pop on down to Stellar Juices, who is hosting all of us, any time between 11am-2pm. Please be sure to register (see link) if you choose to do the cig butt cleanup. OlySurfrider provides buckets, pickers and counters. Be sure to bring your reusable cup and enjoy the juices and smoothies from Stellar!
