The League of Women Voters of Thurston County annual fundraiser luncheon is being held on October 29, 2016 at the Red Lion. Proceeds from this event support the League’s education activities.

Speaker:
Tom Crawford, Thurston Climate Action Team
Topic:
The Heat is On: The Local Climate Challenge

Lifetime Citizenship Award:
Senator Karen Fraser

Many of us think of climate change as a complicated, insurmountable problem that is scary and leaves us feeling helpless. Tom will bring this down to our local level and suggest some community-level solutions that we can adopt. Looking at the effects of climate change in Thurston County, along with local sources of greenhouse gases which cause global warming, Tom will highlight available and practical solutions, that can improve our communities’ health and economy while helping us fight climate change.

There will also be a silent auction in the room adjacent to our meeting room. Come early so you can browse for something you may want to bid on.

Luncheon tickets are $55, with $30 as tax deductible. These funds are to the LWV Education Fund to offer non-partisan candidate forums, community education and voter registration activities.

Reservations are required, please contact Dawn Gibbs.
