Thousands of German soldiers were incarcerated in POW camps across America during World War II. Chris Rahn’s novel “Which Way Now?” brings this little-known fact of history to life in the story of Wilhelm Schmidt, a young German diplomat imprisoned in a farm labor camp in Minnesota during the war. After retirement as administrator of Olympia Group Health, Rahn attended a Traces conference in Iowa where she met former German prisoners who’d returned to the U.S. for a tour of their old POW camps. This program will occur after regular library hours; no other services will be available.
