Yousef Aljamal, a Palestinian writer and translator from Al-Nusierat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, and Jennifer Bing, National Director of the Palestine Activism Program at the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), will speak at New Traditions Fair Trade, 300 5th Ave SW, in downtown Olympia, Monday, October 2, 7-9 pm. Aljamal and Bing will introduce Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire, a wide-ranging anthology that centers Palestinian voices in their ongoing struggle for liberation. The free event is sponsored by the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice and cosponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace-Tacoma.
