Landslides are one of Washington’s most commonly occurring and devastating natural hazards. The Olympia Timberland Library will present a program on landslides, Wednesday, September 9 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.

The speaker, geologic hazards expert Stephen Slaughter, is part of the Department of Natural Resources Landslide Hazards Program. He will present a slide show and discuss historic Washington landslides, types of landslides, and his current project – mapping landslides. Slaughter will also give tips on what to look for when buying property, but will not discuss any specific issues related to on-going recovery from such incidents.
