Renowned jazz duo Tuck and Patti are ready to heat up South Puget Sound Community College this winter. The husband-and-wife tandem takes to the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Mainstage on Friday, Jan. 10.
Combining a classically smooth guitar sound with strong, soulful vocals, Tuck Andress (guitar) and Patti Cathcart (vocals) have released 14 albums since forming in the early 1980s. In addition to renowned original songs, the twosome is also known for masterful covers of a wide variety of artists, including The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson. Their 1991 album Dream peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums charts, the highest of their four top-20 albums.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. with the Joe Baque Trio opening.
Tickets are $20 for adults, and $17 for seniors and students. The concert is free to South Puget Sound students, staff and faculty. Tickets will be available at OlyTix.org and through the Washington Center for the Performing Arts box office.
