Sowa Rigpa གསོ་བ་རིགཔ།
(‘The Science of Healing’) is the name of the medical system of Tibet,
a unique system of healing that incorporates knowledge from many of the great medical disciplines of the ancient world, including the Indian, Persian, Greek, Chinese, and indigenous Himalayan healing traditions. With a guiding focus on empiricism and the elimination of suffering, the Tibetan lineage of Sowa Rigpa has evolved into one of the most sophisticated and effective examples of traditional healing science in the world today.
In this open to the public evening talk we will be introduced to the distinct Tibetan methods of healing and its applications. Participants will learn about the Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, Himalayan folk cures, Buddhist doctrine and its concepts of “three poisons;” and restoring the equilibrium, harmony, and balance to the body, speech and mind.
A perfect introduction for both the layman who wishes to integrate traditional healing approaches into one’s life and home as well as for the seasoned medical practitioner seeking a broader spectrum of tools for benefiting patients
