The first free monthly history talk of the 2015/16 season at Tumwater’s historic Schmidt House (330 Schmidt Place off Custer Way) will be on Thursday at noon on October 15.  The one hour illustrated presentation will feature Tracy Rebstock, archivist from the Southwest regional branch of the Washington State Archives.  Her talk is titled: “Stories from Treasures Found in the State Archives”

This presentation will be not only entertaining and informative, but will also help individuals learn how to use the valuable resource right here in Olympia at the State Archives.  Whether you are searching your family history, property records, or photos, maps, or clippings, this will give you a great head start on your research project.

As in previous seasons, these free brown bag lunch talks are on a first-come, first-seated basis and doors open at 11:30 a.m.  Our thanks to the City of Tumwater for their support of these monthly programs which are recorded on TCTV, channel 26 for future airing.  Groups of more than four people should email us or call ahead for seating availability at (360) 786-8117.
