Father’s Day this year was a day to celebrate for most families, but for our dear friends and business partners, Larry McVay and Colby Langenberg, owners of Advanced Plumbing Technologies it was just the opposite!
They had their livelihood change in a matter of moments as they stood and watched helplessly as a fire destroyed their business shop, work van, all their tools and equipment not to mention some of Larry’s personal items such as his antique car, and beloved Harley Davidson. The fire quickly spread to the pump house which took out the water for Larry’s home, forcing him to reside in a hotel until all this can be straightened out. The fire department had determined that it was wiring that caused the fire.
Something you might not know about Larry and Colby is that they have very giving hearts and are continually giving of themselves to charities. Each year during the holiday season they search for a single mother in need and anonymously do a job for them at no charge and make sure they do it so they don’t receive any glory for it themselves. This is a tradition that began when Larry was a child and someone helped his single mother at a time of great need! They pay it forward every year. They also participate in Relay for Life and this year Colby helped head up a team.
Now they are the ones who are in a time of need!
There will be a benefit Spaghetti Feed at Pellegrino’s Event Center on Wednesday July 17th beginning at 5:30. Tickets are $20 and $15 of that goes directly to Larry and Colby. We are also looking for donations for Raffle items. That will help us raise even more money for them.
