South Puget Sound Community College is hosting a variety of environmental groups and organizations in celebration of Earth Day. And while Earth Day itself is on April 22, the South Puget Sound celebration will take place Thursday, April 25 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Building.

An annual event, this year’s Earth Day celebration brings a variety of service organizations to campus to recruit new volunteers and to talk about and show off their efforts. These organizations include the Olympia Food Co-Op, Intercity Transit, the Washington Trails Association, the Nisqually Land Trust, South Puget Sound Prairies, LOTT/WET Science Center, and many more.

South Puget Sound’s Art Programs students will display Earth Day-themed works, and the Horticulture Program will again have tomato starts on hand. There will also be other giveaways, information, and more. The event will also include snacks and beverages.
