Compost is an easy, energy efficient and ecologically sound way to improve soil quality. It transforms waste from your kitchen and garden into a rich humus that can be added to soil, providing plants with a plentiful supply of the nutrients they need to thrive and produce abundant crops. Olympia Food Co-op staff member Jackson Daniels will discuss the six primary composting techniques, how to design or improve current composting situations and strategies for making the best use of your compost. This program is part of the Backyard Ecology series and is sponsored by the Friends of the Lacey Timberland Library.
