The Ad Hoc Committee on Police and Community Relations will hold its second community forum Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at the offices of the CIELO Project at Family Support Services, 1202 Black Lake Blvd SW Suite B1 at 5:30 p.m. The forum will focus primarily on the experiences and ideas of Latino-Hispanic Community.
The Olympia City Council tasked a group of citizen advisors with engaging the community on how the Olympia Police can better serve the public, especially minority and people who do not often have the chance to be heard. The group held its first forum on Oct. 10, primarily focused on the African-American community.
Although the focus of the Nov. 5 forum will be primarily the Latino-Hispanic community, it is open to all community members to share thoughts about how Olympia Police can best serve all of the public. Information about the committee and upcoming meetings can be found on the City of Olympia’s website at http://olympiawa.gov/city-government/advisory-committees/police-relations-committee.aspx.
