City of Olympia Comprehensive Plan Community Forum

The Planning Commission has finished their recommendations on the City of Olympia Comprehensive Plan Update, and a new draft of the Plan is available online at imagineolympia.com. This draft incorporates all of the Commission’s recommendations and will be the draft the City Council reviews before determining the final version that is adopted in 2014.

The City Council is beginning their review process of the Plan and will hold public hearings in early 2014. The public hearings will be your opportunity to talk directly to Council members and submit comments on the Plan. Now is a great time to learn more about the updates so you’ll feel prepared to share your support or your concerns.

To help with this, the City Council will be hosting a series of forums where you can learn more about the new goals and policies, the Commission’s recommendations, and the update process:

• Wednesday, October 16         Jefferson Middle School                      7:00 PM
• Thursday, October 17             Roosevelt Elementary School              7:00 PM
• Wednesday, October 30         McKenny Elementary School              7:00 PM
• Thursday, November 7           The Olympia Center                               7:00 PM
