The true story of the Calendar Girls began in England, in 1998. After the death of her husband from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Angela Baker and her friends from the local Women’s Institute began raising money for the hospital that had treated him. They came up with a simple, but striking, fundraising idea, producing a calendar featuring the ladies engaged in traditional activities, “making jams, cakes, singing, sewing and all that.” Except for one thing . . . they’re all nude.”
Mild warning: Burlesque style nudity on stage.
